Senator Doug Stoner has been appointed to serve on the following Senate Committees:
- The Ethics Committee handles legislation addressing the moral & ethical issues relating to governmental individuals and groups.
- The Regulated Industries & Utilities Committee handles legislation dealing with gas, telecommunications, electric, and other related industry areas.
- The Retirement Committee is assigned all issues dealing with state retirement and its effects on Georgia citizens.
- The State Institutions & Property Committee regulates all legislation concerning the construction and maintenance of all buildings, lands, and other property owned or managed by the state of Georgia.
- The Transportation Committee is responsible for legislation relating to highway safety, regulation of intrastate common carriers, including railroads, buses, trucks, vessels, pipelines, and civil aviation. Also included are inland waterways and any other means of transportation.
- The Urban Affairs Committee is responsible for addressing transportation, public safety, healthcare, recreation, infrastructure and economic development issues that uniquely impact the urban areas of metropolitan Atlanta.
